It’s a family affair for David Moyes as his son is spotted at West Ham training days after a top scout’s exit is confirmed.

West Ham have always been known as a family club.

And now David Moyes has taken that to the next level it seems!

A couple of years ago The Daily Mail reported that “the manager’s influence at West Ham was growing ever stronger” as his son David Moyes Junior had started now working with his dad at the London Stadium.

The report claimed Moyes Jnr had left his role as an agent with Wasserman to work in the scouting and recruitment department for West Ham.

It has been unclear since whether Moyes’ son has remained part of the setup after the appointments of top scout Mick Doherty last year and technical director Tim Steidten in the summer.

But it seems he may well still be very much involved in some capacity.

Because it’s a family affair for Moyes as his son is spotted at West Ham training days after a top scout’s exit is confirmed.

Yesterday we reported on claims that former Celtic talent spotter Doherty has handed in his notice at West Ham and is set to follow Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta.

Hammers have always been a family club and it’s great to see the tradition continue

And now Moyes’ son – last reported to be part of the Hammers scouting setup – has been seen alongside his dad watching first team training at Rush Green.

West Ham have posted a picture gallery showing players who haven’t been called up for their national teams training during the international break.

Image number 16 or 19 in the gallery shows Moyes overseeing training alongside David junior wearing a West Ham jacket.

If Moyes junior played any hand in helping his dad and Steidten identify and sign the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos in the summer then he should be given the freedom of east London let alone Rush Green!

It’s great to see West Ham’s long tradition of being a family club continue with Moyes and his boy.

And who can forget that magical moment when the West Ham boss brought his 87-year-old dad down onto the pitch in Prague and put the Europa Conference League medal around his neck.

Moyes’ dad has not been able to buy a drink in his town up in Scotland ever since.
