Fabrizio Romano claims West Ham could be beaten to Matheus Pereira by Leicester

Fabrizio Romano has shared some bad news for West Ham, suggesting that Leicester have entered the race to sign Matheus Pereira this summer, when speaking on his Twitch channel.

The Express claimed a couple of days ago that the Hammers were in talks to sign the 25-year-old.

David Moyes is on the hunt for a top class number 10. Jesse Lingard enjoyed an incredible loan spell at the London Stadium last season.

A move to sign the Manchester United star permanently this summer now seems unlikely, however.

West Brom ace Pereira has emerged as a key target for West Ham. There could be a real problem on the horizon for the Hammers, however.

Fabrizio Romano drops West Ham transfer update

Matheus Pereira was superb for West Brom last season with 11 goals and six assists to his name in just 33 Premier League games.

It is understandable why the West Ham fans want the Brazilian at the London Stadium so badly.

Romano had some bad news for the Hammers fans, however, when speaking on his Twitch channel yesterday:

“I’m told he’s one of the possibilities that Leicester are considering, more so than Daniel James as of today. He’s one of the players to keep an eye on, I think it’s a big opportunity for them.”

The Hammers fans will be hugely concerned by that update.

It wasn’t too long ago that the Foxes signed West Ham target Patson Daka. So Leicester have previous when it comes to acting whilst we sit around waiting for things to happen.

If West Ham miss out on Pereira after failing to land Lingard it would be a truly devastating blow to stomach for Moyes and the fans.

Let’s hope that David Sullivan has a surprise up his sleeve, because when Leicester want a player, they usually move fast.

Whether or not we sign Pereira could end up defining our season. He is that good. Leicester’s alleged interest in the 25-year-old is certainly ominous, however.
