The Hammers’ 3-0 win against Leeds was not enough to avoid going down to the Championship for the first time in 14 years.
Unfortunately, West Ham supporters had seen relegation coming for a while after a series of bad decisions from top to bottom.
Fans have now voted on the biggest culprit for the club’s recent downfall, with one name standing out from the crowd.

West Ham supporters overwhelmingly blame David Sullivan for relegation
West Ham fans have genuine reasons to be disappointed with so many people associated with the club.
From Jarrod Bowen to Max Kilman, the players could have saved the club from relegation by delivering better performances.
Managers Graham Potter and Nuno Espirito Santo also made some significant mistakes that cost the Hammers results.
However, Irons supporters appear more annoyed with owner David Sullivan than anybody else after their relegation.
68% of TalkingPoints users voted Sullivan as the person who should take the most blame for the terrible 2025/26 season.
“Sullivan has done this damage,” a West Ham fan said. “He hasn’t got a clue about football. It’s just one big financial game to him. He definitely isn’t feeling our pain.”

Another wrote: “Sullivan’s mismanagement of the club has led to its downfall. He brings in players on the cheap and then gives an excuse for the failed attempts.”

Meanwhile, several others shared blunt responses, such as “Sullivan 100%” and “Sullivan, no doubt at all.”
The general feeling among Hammers supporters is that Sullivan is the root of the team’s problems on and off the pitch.
The majority will have their fingers crossed that Sullivan sells his 39% stake sooner rather than later.
Co-owner Daniel Kretinsky is rumoured to be interested in taking up a bigger stake, but that remains to be seen.
