West Ham have an important decision to make this week regarding Nuno Espirito Santo’s future.
Although results improved under the Portuguese boss, he ultimately failed to keep the Hammers in the Premier League.
Many expected him to leave the London Stadium for good last weekend, but his departure has still not been confirmed.
Ally McCoist has now urged the West Ham board to perform a U-turn and keep Nuno for the Championship campaign.

Ally McCoist tells West Ham to keep Nuno Espirito Santo
Most West Ham supporters would rather Nuno exit the club after leading them to relegation this season.
The former Nottingham Forest boss had more than enough time to turn things around and help them finish outside the bottom three.
Hammers fans also did not appreciate his cautious tactics that often invited pressure from the opposition.
However, McCoist is convinced that Nuno would give West Ham the best chance of achieving immediate promotion.
Given that the first-team squad could undergo a complete rebuild, keeping the same manager could provide some stability.
“I’d do everything I could to keep the manager,” McCoist said. “I know a lot of West Ham boys don’t think that way. I think he would be the man to get them back up.
“We know how difficult the Championship is. It’s really, really difficult, and not only can you get lost in it, but you can go the other way. It’s obviously a savage, savage blow for them.
“I just think a bit of stability with the manager, and if they can keep one or two [better players], would be in their best interests to get back up immediately.”
McCoist blames Graham Potter for West Ham’s relegation more than Nuno, who walked into a difficult situation.
“I just think there were positives there,” he added. “I definitely think the damage was done before Nuno came in, in terms of the points and the relegation.”

However, McCoist’s suggestion that “the damage was done” when Potter was sacked after just five games does not make sense.
Nuno had 33 games to save West Ham from relegation and only won nine of them — a worse winning percentage than Julien Lopetegui.
The reality is that Nuno would be fortunate to keep his job after struggling to make a significant impact at the London Stadium.
