Dean Ashton has sent a clear message to Nuno Espirito Santo about winning over the West Ham supporters.
The Hammers faithful are divided on whether Nuno should have been given a second chance at the London Stadium.
Although results improved in 2026, the Portuguese head coach had more than enough time to help the team survive relegation.
His next objective will be to achieve promotion at the first opportunity by ensuring they finish in the top two in the Championship.
Apart from performances on the pitch, Ashton has another suggestion for Nuno to endear himself to the West Ham fans.

Results will always take priority, but managers can still find other ways to inspire supporters.
Managers like Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool and Jose Mourinho at Chelsea were adored for their personality, as well as the trophies.
Ashton has now called upon Nuno to show some more passion on the touchline to connect with the West Ham fans.
His calmness has its benefits, but he often fails to show the Hammers supporters that he lives and breathes the club as they do.
Ashton explained: “This feels like such a great opportunity for the club to reconnect with the supporters because that’s been lost; it just has…
“The manager has to do that as well. He has to show his passion. He’s very calm and composed.
“West Ham need a little bit more passion from him. I think, hopefully, staying and showing that [passion], he could really connect with them.”
Nobody wants Nuno to pretend he is a completely different person by doing knee slides whenever West Ham score.
Which Premier League youngster would you most like to see West Ham sign on loan? ⚒️👇
However, it would probably only take a few kisses of the badge or fist pumps to the crowd to get them onside.
Football fans just want to feel that the players and staff are representing them by giving their all for the club in every game.
It sounds simple, but it could be the difference between Nuno being a success or a failure in East London.
