David Moyes spoke to reporters yesterday and admitted that West Ham United midfielder Conor Coventry is not currently in his plans, as quoted by Claret and Hugh.

The Hammers are currently very light in the central midfield department with Declan Rice having been ruled out for around four weeks with a knee injury.
Mark Noble took Rice’s place away at Wolves on Monday.
The 33-year-old club captain put in a decent display at Molineux. It is clear for everyone to see that Nobes isn’t quite at the level required anymore.
Nevertheless, it seems as though Conor Coventry still has a long way to go if he is to usurp the West Ham legend.
David Moyes makes interesting Conor Coventry admission
The Hammers boss told reporters that the 21-year-old is currently not in his plans, as quoted by Claret and Hugh:
“At the moment he’s outside the first-team squad and – who knows – we might need him, but at the moment he’s not in my thinking.”
That is a surprising and rather strange admission from Moyes. Especially considering our lack of options in the middle of the park.
Aside from Tomas Soucek and Mark Noble, and with Declan Rice out injured, West Ham do not have another senior central midfielder.
Pablo Fornals could play there and perhaps Jesse Lingard could as well.
Conor Coventry is an exciting young talent, however, and to completely rule him out of contention for a place in the first-team is a questionable move from Moyes. A manager who supposedly gives youth a chance don’t forget.
