West Ham United boss David Moyes suggested that he doesn’t regret signing a striker in January because he chose to bring Jesse Lingard to the club instead. And some Hammers fans have reacted on Twitter to his comments.
The East London outfit are currently flying high in fourth spot ion the Premier League table.
Moyes has worked miracles really considering the lack of strength in depth that he has at his disposal at the London Stadium.
Michail Antonio – our only senior striker, suffered a hamstring injury against Wolves on Monday night.
He is now expected to be out for quite some time.
Moyes addressed the media this afternoon and suggested that he doesn’t regret failing to bring a striker to the club in January, as quoted by Football.London:
“No, I chose to bring in Jesse Lingard instead.”
So it is clear from those comments that the Scot wasn’t backed to the hilt by David Sullivan and David Gold in January.
The Hammers boss was obviously given the opportunity to sign either a striker or Jesse Lingard by GSB.
