West Ham boss David Moyes has responded to a question about Aston Villa manager Dean Smith being under intense pressure ahead of today’s Premier League clash.

Aston Villa play host to the Hammers at Villa Park this afternoon in the 4:30pm kick-off.
West Ham are flying high in fourth spot in the Premier League table whilst the Villans are struggling, having lost their last three league outings.
Villa will be no pushovers this afternoon but if the Hammers players are on their best form, we should win the game comfortably.
A win for West Ham would undoubtedly pile the pressure on the under-fire Smith.
David Moyes makes claim about Dean Smith being under intense pressure
The former Brentford boss has done a good job in charge of Aston Villa.
He has felt the heat in recent weeks, however, after losing to Arsenal, Wolves and Tottenham successively.
Moyes responded to reporters when asked whether Smith should be under pressure after Villa’s recent run of results, as quoted by Football.London:
“I don’t see in any way how Dean Smith is under pressure after the job he’s done. Where he took them from, where he got them last year, how good his team is. He’s also had to sell maybe their best player and adding new players to the squad and I think they have bought really well. I think Dean Smith has done a brilliant job at Aston Villa and I would be amazed if your comment [being under pressure] is correct.”
Fair play from Moysie.
In all honestly, Smith has done a good job at Villa. Such is the ambition of the club’s owners and fans, however, perhaps he needs to be doing more.
Unless Villa arrest their alarming recent slide, Smith will have some serious questions to ask.
And in spite of what Moyes said, the vultures have undoubtedly begun to circle at Villa Park after their recent run of poor results.

Let’s hope that come 6:20pm tonight, the pressure on Dean Smith has got even more intense.
