The surface at the Hammers’ home ground wasn’t in great shape during our win against Leicester on Monday night.

It was visibly worse against Palace yesterday, however.

That is something that needs to be addressed immediately considering the way in which West Ham like to attack quickly with incisive, fast passing.

David Moyes lambasts London Stadium pitch

The surface at the Hammers’ Stratford home was very hard indeed. The West Ham players found it hard to pass the ball crisply along the ground.

“I’ve got to say the pitch is very poor, the pitch at the London Stadium is really, really poor. It’s not an excuse because we played very well on it on Monday night. Today in the dry, a bit of heat it is not good. That didn’t help. You could probably see the amount of times the ball bounced over people’s heads and it was very high off the ground.”

Hopefully this is something that the ground staff can address during the international break.

West Ham are a top tier Premier League team with European football to play this season. There is no reason why our players should have to play on a sub-standard surface.
