West Ham manager David Moyes has been there, done it and got the t-shirt over the years.
While the Scot may have had to adapt his methods over the years, he’s very much one of the old school when it comes to how he handles the press.
It is often a thankless task for journalists with access to West Ham’s press conferences to squeeze information out of Moyes.
Especially when it comes to Hammers team news, injuries or transfers.
Moyes gets spiky with reporter over Bowen
Spare a thought for one reporter who asked him about West Ham’s injured top scorer Jarrod Bowen today then.
West Ham head to rock bottom Sheffield United on Sunday looking to maintain their place in the top six of the Premier League.
The Hammers will definitely be without Mohammed Kudus, Nayef Aguerd, Michail Antonio, Said Benrahma and Lucas Paqueta.
And there are doubts over Bowen, Edson Alvarez and Pablo Fornals too.
It has been reported that the latter three could all give West Ham a huge boost by being back for the Blades clash.
But Moyes got spiky with a reporter after being quizzed on West Ham star Bowen.
Moyes playing cards close to his chest
The Scot was in no mood to give anything away or his counterpart Chris Wilder any glimpse into West Ham’s line-up ahead of the game.
“Jarrod is doing better. Will he be available? I won’t be giving that information out,” Moyes responded to the reporter – as reported on the West Ham website.
Although Moyes did let his guard down somewhat when pressed on the overall injury situation.
“Whether he’ll (Bowen) be fit and available at the weekend, we’ll have to wait and see, but he’s certainly improving,” Moyes added, as reported on the club’s official website.
“It’s a similar story with Edson and Pablo. We’ll need to make late calls on all three of them and see if they’re okay to travel, and that’s what we’ll do.”
