Darren Bent has not been pleased with what he’s seen a West Ham player doing this season in the Premier League.

The Hammers find themselves in 18th place in the top flight, and their recent results have put Nuno Espirito Santo’s job in danger.

Imagine if Nuno were to be sacked…😮

Who would you want West Ham to replace him with and why?

Slaven Bilic has been linked with a West Ham return, as there is uncertainty whether or not the Portuguese will be at the club for the foreseeable future.

Darren Bent slams Lucas Paqueta

Bent has slammed Lucas Paqueta for his lack of effort out of possession for the Hammers this season.

He believes that West Ham are doomed for relegation if he and the other players do not put in a fight for the club.

Nuno’s side last picked up the three points when they beat Burnley 3-2 back in November.

Since then, they have played Bournemouth, Liverpool, Manchester United, Brighton, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Fulham, drawing only three of those and losing the rest.

Currently, they find themselves five points adrift of safety and the gap could get wider if they fail to get points from their games against Brighton, Wolves and Nottingham Forest.

Speaking on Premier League’s Weekend Wrap, Bent said: “Their better players like Paqueta are not putting a shift in. They might go down if this does not change.”

Will West Ham sell Paqueta in the summer?

Despite being the most technical player at the club, Paqueta has become more of a liability than an asset.

His attitude and performances see him put in abject displays for West Ham, and fans have grown tired of watching him being ineffective in the final third.

What is YOUR favourite Lucas Paqueta moment, and why?

If the Hammers get relegated, he will most certainly be one of the first names out of the door, as he would command a decent transfer fee and would not want to play Championship football.

However, there is a case to be made for West Ham to sell him even if they stay in the Premier League next season.

At 28, he would still be able to command a decent transfer fee and allow the club to reinvest it in someone younger who is willing to fight for the jersey.
