Here’s the cold hard truth on the Divin Mubama situation from a top source inside West Ham after the young striker snubs a new deal.

West Ham fans were reeling yesterday when it emerged talented young forward Divin Mubama had turned down a new contract.

The Athletic revealed that Mubama has turned down an extension with his boyhood club after entering the final year of the deal he signed in October 2021.

Crucially Mubama’s current Hammers deal does not include a one-year option.

The Athletic claimed “discussions remain ongoing and the club hope he changes his mind”.

Cold hard truth on the Divin Mubama situation at West Ham from top source inside the club after young striker snubs new deal

But West Ham fans have pointed the finger of blame at manager David Moyes who has been using ageing flop Danny Ings ahead of Mubama, despite some impressive cameos last term and in pre-season.

Mubama is highly rated by England too but is yet to feature in the league and was not in the matchday squad for the 1-0 loss to Everton on Sunday.

Hammers News has spoken to a key contact at West Ham for clarity.

And here’s the cold hard truth on the Mubama situation from the top source inside West Ham after the young striker snubs a new deal.

Speaking to the source late last night, Hammers News was told Mubama’s agent is making ‘mad demands’ and poured doubt on hopes of a new deal.

‘Mad demands, change of mind seems unlikely’ says top Hammers source

“Agent has mad demands, so seems unlikely (he will change his mind),” the source told Hammers News.

That is also being reported over on Claret and Hugh, who add further detail by claiming that should Mubama change his mind and sign up to an extension, he will be sent out on loan to gain first team experience.

Mubama has played just 24 minutes of first-team football this season under Moyes.

He would be the latest in a long line of promising academy stars to leave the club including the likes of Sonny Perkins and Harrison Ashby.

Although, it must be said, neither have done much to prove Moyes wrong since departing.

During the recent narrow win at League Two Lincoln – West Ham fans made their feelings clear to Moyes about Mubama by aiming a chant at the Hammers boss.
