Callum Wilson’s comments on a certain Crysencio Summerville are worth revisiting.
Indeed, after the West Ham winger was surprisingly linked with a move to Tottenham, a response from east London emerged.
Much to the relief of supporters, West Ham do not plan to sell Summerville.
While not to suggest he’s suddenly an absolute world-beater, selling him halfway through a relegation battle would be an absolute disaster.
Urmmmmm….what?! How would you feel if West Ham SOLD Summerville to Spurs?! 🤔
Summerville is one of West Ham’s leading lights. The recent wins over QPR and Tottenham would have been impossible without him.
With that in mind, it’s worth looking back on what Wilson said about him.
Callum Wilson thinks Crysencio Summerville is fantastic
After the win over Tottenham, Wilson was in the headlines.
The striker scored the goal that won the game amid suggestions he could leave himself.
However, West Ham have decided to keep Wilson, who was actually full of praise for the winger when speaking after the game.
Wilson hailed Summerville as “fantastic” after West Ham beat Spurs, saying: “Cry is a fantastic talent.”
“On the whole, he is becoming more consistent. Long may that continue for him.”
What do YOU think is the reason for Summerville’s sudden return to form?
Has he shown that West Ham don't need a new winger?
West Ham could be in a win-win scenario over Crysencio Summerville
Hopefully between the pair of them, Wilson and Summerville do enough to keep West Ham in the Premier League.
However, if they can’t, then Summerville is already experienced enough in the Championship to prove he can thrive for the Hammers.

Even if he were to be sold in the event of a relegation, the winger could feasibly have driven up his value by impressing during the second half of the campaign.
Summerville’s career at West Ham has been a slow burn thus far. However, things appear to be moving in the right direction at last.
Selling Summerville would have been a disaster for West Ham, after all.
Wilson’s verdict that his teammate is simply getting better is difficult to disagree with.
Letting him leave just before his form potentially explodes would have taken a lot of explaining…
