The owners of West Ham United have responded to reports the club could sell a key trio in January after rumoured interest in Crysencio Summerville from Spurs.
- Hammers News exclusive
West Ham are being linked with a host of signings in the January window having already spent £47m and – just as was the case with the sale of Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer – something has to pay for it.
As a result it is unsurprising that a number of Hammers stars are being tipped to leave.
Lucas Paqueta has been pushing to leave to return to boyhood club Flamengo with rumours West Ham are edging closer to agreeing a £38m deal.
West Ham board issue statement after Spurs link to Summerville
Ironically Tottenham made an offer to West Ham for Paqueta but the playmaker had no interest in the move.
Selling a second leading player to bitter rivals Tottenham would not have gone down well with West Ham fans.
Urmmmmm….what?! How would you feel if West Ham SOLD Summerville to Spurs?! 🤔
Especially given the club are fighting for their Premier League lives and supporters are already protesting against the owners.
Paqueta is not the only top Hammers player being linked with an exit in January.

Three other fundamental West Ham players could also leave according to reports emerging this week.
One rumour that has caused serious shockwaves at West Ham is Tottenham making an enquiry for Crysencio Summerville.
A report from the Daily Mail that Spurs want in-form Summerville has been repeated by several other outlets.
It has also bizarrely been claimed that the Hammers only value Summerville at £25m – £1m less than they paid to sign him from Leeds.
Hammers fans have been up in arms on fan forums and social media about the prospect Summerville could be sold to Tottenham.
Hammers board respond on selling key trio
No players had moved between the two clubs for 14-and-a-half years before Kudus joined the north Londoners in a £54m deal in the summer.
So could Summerville follow his close friend in crossing enemy lines?
What do YOU think is the reason for Summerville’s sudden return to form?
Has he shown that West Ham don't need a new winger?
And could he be joined out of the London Stadium exit by midfield hit Soungoutou Magassa and Hammers hero Tomas Soucek?
That’s the question on everyone’s lips this week after claims emerged stating West Ham could sell Magassa with Italian clubs and Galatasaray interested.
According to Czech site Infotbal.cz, the Turkish giants also want Soucek, who has been in and out of the side under every manager since David Moyes left.
Summerville has been one of the chief difference-makers in virtually each of West Ham’s paltry five wins this season.
So selling him to Spurs simply does not compute in the minds of fans.

There had been rumours the Dutchman was not enjoying playing under Nuno Espirito Santo.
But Summerville went out of his way to rubbish those claims of West Ham unrest when he scored in the win at Tottenham last weekend.
Hammers supporters have also been baffled at reports Magassa could depart just six months after joining.
The French midfielder has largely impressed when given game time but has dropped out of the team, being replaced by Soucek in the win at Tottenham.
Soucek was excellent with his typically selfless and hard-working performance once again proving how important he will be to the team during the relegation battle.
‘We’ll do nothing with our players that’s not good for West Ham’
Given the concern among fans, Hammers News approached the top spokesman for West Ham’s owners about the Summerville to Spurs claim as well as talk Magassa and Soucek could be sold.
The response shows the Hammers are in no mood to be bullied into sales by clubs or players.
“We will do nothing with any of our players in the January window that is not good for West Ham United, it is as simple as that,” the top spokesman for West Ham’s board told Hammers News.
That stern statement follows denials from West Ham’s top brass to the likes of club insider Sean Whetstone that Summerville, Magassa or Soucek will be sold.
