Callum Wilson will return to his old home, St. James’ Park, when West Ham take on Newcastle this weekend.

The 34-year-old played 130 times for the Magpies in all competitions, contributing 49 goals and 11 assists.

Wilson has also been in fine form for West Ham, scoring a late winner against Everton before VAR denied another against Arsenal.

He will be desperate to score an important goal against Newcastle this weekend, but that would create an awkward dilemma.

Imagine you’re Nuno – what changes are you making ahead of Newcastle? 💭

Back four? Start Wilson? What would you do? 🤔

Callum Wilson’s Newcastle promise could be tested in huge West Ham clash

Several Premier League players were asked about celebrating against former clubs earlier in the season.

Wilson was among those to suggest it would be disrespectful to celebrate, and promised not to against Newcastle.

“It’s respect, I wouldn’t do it [celebrate],” Wilson claimed on the Premier League’s TikTok. “And when I score at St James’ Park this year, I won’t celebrate.”

However, West Ham now find themselves in a relegation fight with only two games remaining in the 2025/26 campaign.

Let us know your prediction for West Ham’s trip to Newcastle! 🤞

If he were to score a crucial goal this weekend, especially a late winner, would Wilson break his celebration promise?

Newcastle supporters would surely let him off for getting carried away in what could prove to be a huge moment.

Hopefully, West Ham will not need any late drama to earn all three points at St. James’ Park, but there are no guarantees.

It is poised to be a close contest between two teams that have fallen far short of expectations this season.
