Fabrizio Romano was the first big journalist to take the plunge regarding the Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United deal yesterday.
West Ham have been tracking Aaron Wan-Bissaka all summer long, with Julen Lopetegui desperate to upgrade his right-back options.
And on Saturday, it was suggested that the deal to bring the 26-year-old to the London Stadium could be wrapped up with 48 hours.
That obviously hasn’t quite happened yet though.
It was suggested yesterday that the deal was stalling somewhat, with a few creases still in need of being ironed out.
That understandably got the West Ham fans’ pulses racing. Why wasn’t the deal wrapped up, and what was causing the delay?
After such a smooth transfer window so far, it actually felt strange to witness the club finding it hard to get a deal over the line.
It’s usually the complete opposite! How times have changed at the London Stadium since Lopetegui came in to replace David Moyes earlier this summer.
Now a new claim has come to light from one of the biggest journalists in the game…
New Aaron Wan-Bissaka claim, amidst West Ham ITK silence
So the 26-year-old will almost certainly leave Manchester United this summer.
But where will his next destination be?

The answer to that question now seems to be East London, thankfully, after Fabrizio Romano dropped a new claim.
The Italian journalist said, “Aaron Wan-Bissaka has signed his new West Ham contract right now with Tim Steidten! Deal sealed.“
And breath…
It has been a strange transfer so far because those ‘in the know’ reporters very close to the Hammers board haven’t put their necks out to suggest a deal is done yet.
Let’s hope it’s just a matter of a couple of minor things that need the I’s dotting and the T’s crossing.
What a huge signing Wan-Bissaka will be for West Ham. In fact, I would even go as far as to suggest that he’ll be our second most important signing of the summer, behind only Jean-Clair Todibo.
Described as an ‘incredible’ defender (Goal), Wan-Bissaka possesses all of the attributes that we’re crying out for right now in the right-back department.
He’s absolutely rapid, and that recovery pace will enable us to press higher up the pitch as a team.
The Man United right-back is also one of the very best tacklers in world football, and he’d be a huge upgrade on Vladimir Coufal at the London Stadium.
West Ham seem to have sealed one of the signings of the summer by bringing Aaron Wan-Bissaka to the club for just £15 million.
Let’s hope that we see Wan-Bissaka in the Claret and Blue officially this morning. 9am announcement anyone?
