West Ham United are allegedly interested in signing Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, also known as Bono, in the summer.

AS claim that West Ham are challenging Tottenham and Manchester United for the 31-year-old’s signature.

If this report is true, Alphonse Areola is surely finished at the London Stadium under David Moyes.

Areola, 29, was actually linked with a loan exit from West Ham in the January transfer window. He ended up staying with the Hammers but something clearly isn’t right.

West Ham chasing Sevilla ace

AS claims that Bono has a €50 million (£44 million) release clause inserted into his current contract with Sevilla.

And with the Hammers on the hunt for the 31-year-old Morocco international’s signature, Areola’s time in East London could be coming to an end.

I believe that losing Areola would be symptomatic of Moyes’s absolutely terrible man management.

However, should the Frenchman leave, the Sevilla stopper would not be a bad replacement.

Bounou is a highly experienced goalkeeper. He is a very good shot-stopper and is a commanding presence inside his own penally area.

I still believe that Areola is the better goalkeeper out of the two though.

Areola, who earns £120k-a-week (Spotrac) is an elite goalkeeper and should be playing week in, week out for the Hammers

However, with Moyes supposedly in for Sevilla’s Bono, Areola faces an uncertain future at the London Stadium.
