One West Ham United player in particular has just been praised to the hilt by football pundit Alan Shearer.
Alan Shearer is clearly a big fan of the West Ham ace in question, and he included him in his Premier League team of the week.
The Hammers drew 1-1 with Aston Villa in the Premier League at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Michail Antonio put us ahead with his first goal since August, and we really should have gone on to win the game from there in my opinion.
In addition to his fine display against Villa, the 33-year-old Jamaica international was superb in midweek against Freiburg, and there are definitely signs that he’s getting back to his best.
However, his display was somewhat overshadowed by VAR and the incompetent officials operating the technology.
David Moyes was fuming when West Ham had a last minute goal chalked off after a lengthy VAR check – 5 minutes 37 seconds in fact, and the likes of award winning Times journalist Henry Winter spoke out after the game in support of the Hammers.
In spite of all the controversy, Shearer chose to focus on Antonio’s excellent performance instead…

The former Toon hitman has named his Premier League team of the week.
And Shearer raved about Antonio, when speaking to the official Premier League website:
“Pressed really well from the front, gave West Ham a focal point and scored an excellent diving header. Unlucky not to have added another goal too as it went in off his arm.”
Having a fully fit and firing Antonio in our side makes us such a better team, and it enables Moyes to move Jarrod Bowen back out to the right wing.
If the 33-year-old can maintain his fitness levels between now and the end of the season, we should be in great shape from an attacking perspective.
