England legend Alan Shearer raves about two key West Ham men but is the top dog Gareth Southgate listening? Because he should be.
Jarrod Bowen is fast becoming West Ham’s man of the moment – alongside the manager David Moyes of course!
West Ham star Bowen has been the poster boy of Moyes’s second spell in east London.

The Scot came back vowing to rebuild the club around young, energetic talented players hungry to prove themselves at the top level and ready to work hard for the cause.
Well Bowen – one of his first signings on his return almost two years ago – is all that and more.
The wide forward has been so good for West Ham this season that he was twice widely tipped for a call-up to the England squad. Indeed Moyes himself confirmed media reports from the likes of The Evening Standard that Bowen was very close to an England call-up.

He was placed on standby for the Three Lions but was ultimately snubbed by Gareth Southgate for both the October and November internationals.
A number of pundits, such as Ian Wright, and fans – not just West Ham supporters – have said Bowen deserves a call-up.
Well Premier League and England legend Alan Shearer knows a thing or two about what it takes to be a top class forward for club and country.

And he was hugely impressed with Bowen in the memorable 3-2 win over Chelsea last time out, including him and Moyes in his team of the week and making the Hammer his standout performer (premierleague.com).
“He ran a seemingly unbeatable defence ragged and scored a superb goal,” Shearer told the Premier League website.
“Another incredible result to maintain West Ham’s top-four push. Moyes matched Chelsea’s 3-4-3 system, and both that and his half-time introduction of match-winner Arthur Masuaku paid off.”

Now it is just a case of whether the top dog Southgate is listening.
If the weight of opinion pushes for Bowen to get that England call he richly deserves then Southgate surely can’t continue to ignore him come the internationals in the new year.
And we know one thing for certain, Bowen won’t be letting anyone down if and when he does get the chance.
