Alan Pardew has confirmed what Hammers News exclusively revealed weeks ago, Nuno Espirito Santo is leaving and the club wants Scott Parker to replace him.

Speculation has been rife over the future of Nuno Espirito Santo before West Ham were officially relegated on the final day of the season.

Hammers News exclusively revealed that Nuno would not be staying if West Ham dropped into the Championship.

We also reported that three-time Hammer of the Year Scott Parker, a free agent after leaving Burnley, was a top target for the board.

Pardew sources say Nuno out, Parker in at West Ham

Parker’s knowledge of the Championship and experience in getting three separate clubs promoted to the Premier League is a big factor attracting West Ham’s board.

So too is the fact he would not cost the club anything in compensation.

Imagine YOU are in control! Who are you hiring to replace Nuno? 🤔

Now former Hammers boss Alan Pardew says his West Ham sources have told him who the new manager will be.

Pardew, who got the Hammers promoted back to the Premier League and to an FA Cup final, says he has spoken to multiple West Ham sources who have told him Nuno is leaving and the board want Parker to replace him.

“Sources that are close to me have suggested that Nuno might not be there, not in the form of being sacked because he’s tried to do a decent job and he’s had a good go at it in the second part of the season,” Pardew said on talkSPORT, which you can see in the post below.

“Maybe it will suit all parties for him to go and get someone experienced who knows the Championship, like Scotty Parker, whose name keeps coming up.

“And that’s not just one source, that’s like three or four sources so it will be interesting to see.

“Interesting times at West Ham.”

Parker divides Hammers fans despite astonishing record

Parker seems to divide opinion among Hammers fans.

Supporters have always kept a close eye on his development as a manager.

Relegation confirmed – where do West Ham go from here?

West Ham United Head Coach Nuno Espírito Santo shows dejection after West Ham United's relegation to the Sky Bet Championship is confirmed following the Premier League match between West Ham United and Leeds United at London Stadium on May 24, 2026 in London, England.

There has been a feeling among some supporters that Parker is one day destined to manage the club where he was crowned Hammer of the Year three seasons in a row and won the prestigious Football Writers’ Player of the Year for his leadership of West Ham in their relegation battle in 2011.

The brilliant midfielder gave everything on the pitch for the Hammers in every game he played and the half-time speech which inspired a comeback from 3-0 down at West Brom is the stuff of West Ham legend.

But he soured his good name somewhat by joining Spurs after relegation.

Parker has largely impressed in his managerial career thus far.

In fact he has never failed to be promoted in a Championship season as a manager.

It is an astonishing statistic for a young manager who, at 45, should have his best years ahead of him.

Parker has led Fulham, Bournemouth and Burnley to promotion to the Premier League.

West Ham fans want exciting, attacking football and Parker does set his teams up to play that way.

His record of being sacked each time his teams make it to the big time has some Hammers fans questioning whether it is the right direction to go in.
