Adrian Durham posts strangest message you’ll ever see about West Ham on X after Newcastle win

Well, what a truly brilliant performance that was from West Ham United against Newcastle United.

The West Ham players actually had their way with Newcastle, and it was a joy to watch us play the hosts off the park.

However, Adrian Durham took to X after the match and shared his truly unfathomable take on the Premier League clash.

Durham has been critical of the Hammers in the past, but his jibes have mostly been aimed at our London Stadium home.

The shock jock’ radio presenter was in attendance at St James’ Park for the Premier League showdown on Monday night.

Julen Lopetegui would have been absolutely delighted with his team’s performance against what was a resurgent Newcastle side heading into the match.

The Spaniard faced the sack before the game, but that talk will be put to bed for a while at least after his side’s stunning performance against the Magpies.

However, Durham seemed to be watching a completely different game to the rest of us.

The talkSPORT presenter is well known for his highly controversial takes on the game.

However, he may well have taken the biscuit with his bizarre assessment of the Newcastle vs West Ham clash.

Durham took to his official X account after the match had finished.

And the message that he posted genuinely made me double take, because I honestly thought I had read it wrong:

The absurdity of the post is summed up by the fact that it got just 37 likes – he has more than 400k followers!

West Ham’s best performance of the season

Durham has got that so wrong – we were exceptional up on Tyneside against the Toon.

Lopetegui and his players have set the standards now, and they absolutely cannot let it slip.

West Ham were a joy to watch against Newcastle, what with the hard-work on display, the high and aggressive press and tremendous energy from the players.

That was the kind if performance the Hammers fans have been crying out for.

If Lopetegui gets his team playing like that for the remainder of the season, I have no doubts that we will finish inside the top seven.

Hopefully the Spaniard, and many of his players prove everyone wrong, myself included.

Despite what Adrian Durham says, that performance from West Ham against Newcastle was the best and most complete display we have seen in a long, long time.
