£20 million West Ham star has just refused to rule out leaving the Hammers to rejoin his former club

One West Ham United player has openly admitted that a return to his former club could be on at some point.

West Ham made some big signings in the summer but unfortunately, not many of them have worked out.

Julen Lopetegui is a man under real pressure at the London Stadium right now, and any more poor results will see him lose his job.

The Spaniard has been unable to get a tune out of his summer signings, and the standard of football has been atrocious.

It surely won’t be long before Lopetegui is finally moved on.

And one West Ham player in particular may well be counting down the days until that happens.

Crysencio Summerville refuses to rule out leaving West Ham

Pacy winger Crysencio Summerville was brought into the London Stadium from Leeds in the summer, for a fee believed to be worth around £20 million.

The 23-year-old has played a peripheral role for the Hammers so far this season though.

It’s bizarre, because I think he’s been one of our best attackers.

And now Summerville has been discussing his future with a Dutch publication.

When speaking to Viaplay in the Netherlands, Summerville responded when asked if a return to Feyenoord could be on the cards for him in the future:

The Hammers winger said, “Feyenoord will always have a nice place in my heart. I started there. That’s where it started. And in football, you never know. I say never, never.”

“Who knows one day at the end of my career if I want to return, I know they will embrace me there with both arms. It’s what I say. Never say never. Feyenoord is a warm club, so who knows.”

So at least he made it clear that any return to Feyenoord wouldn’t happen until the latter stages of his career.

I actually think Crysencio Summerville is a real talent, and I’m sure that he’ll be a success with West Ham when he starts playing more regularly.

I’m not sure that Lopetegui fancies him though, so the Dutchman may well have to wait until the Spaniard has been sacked before he’s given the platform needed to really thrive.

And until that time comes, we will all just have to be patient with the explosive 23-year-old winger.
