Nuno Espirito Santo makes two changes for West Ham United’s home clash with Premier League leaders Arsenal today as Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jean-Clair Todibo come into the starting XI.
Sections of the Hammers support were clamouring for Wan-Bissaka’s return, and they have got their wish as Kyle Walker-Peters drops out.
The former Manchester United right-back starts for the first time since DR Congo’s World Cup celebrations overran in March.
What do you make of Nuno’s two BIG calls?
Wan-Bissaka and Todibo return…
Jean-Clair Todibo starts as well with Nuno Espirito Santo introducing a three-man backline. Todibo has not featured in a Premier League XI since the 1-1 draw with Arsenal’s title rivals Manchester City two months ago, but he returns alongside Axel Disasi and Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Pablo Felipe dropped as West Ham United host Arsenal
This means that there is no place for Pablo Felipe.
Pablo’s involvement was a source of debate pre-match, with the January signing now 14 matches without a goal for West Ham United.
There was an argument to suggest that the Hammers needed his work rate up against Arsenal, but he drops out with Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville supporting lone striker Taty Castellanos.
Freddie Potts returns to the squad after missing the 3-0 defeat by Brentford. There is no sign of Adama Traore, though the reason for his absence has not yet been explained.
