The West Ham XI that Nuno must name against Arsenal means changes for Pablo Felipe and Adama Traore

With Pablo Felipe appreciation society dwindling in members since last week’s loss to Brentford, Nuno Espirito Santo should make changes as West Ham play Arsenal.

There are those – including the one writing this very article – who believe that Pablo does have a role to play, even if frustrations with his end product are understandable.

To boo or not to boo, that is the question… 😂

Still, West Ham fans have criticised Pablo, who did not at all play well last weekend. In a game of this magnitude, it may not be wise to field a player short on confidence.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the West Ham United XI that Nuno should name against Arsenal on Sunday.

Jarrod Bowen must replace Pablo in West Ham XI

Nuno has several options to replace Pablo, none of which are perfect. In an ideal world, Callum Wilson would start, but it remains doubtful as to how effective he can be doing that role at this stage of his career.

The only real option if Nuno wants to continue playing in the 4-4-2 shape that has largely served him reasonably well over the last few months is to move Jarrod Bowen up front.

What changes would you make to this team and why? 👀

Along with Wilson, the skipper remains West Ham’s most reliable source of goals.

That would then open up a spot for Adama Traore on the right, giving Nuno another point of attack.

Clearly, the idea of switching to a three-man central defensive unit and bringing Jean-Clair Todibo into the fold must also be tempting.

Had this game come slightly earlier in the season, it would probably be the best way to go too.

Still, West Ham need a win, as unlikely as it may be. For that reason, cheered on by home support, Nuno has to go on the front foot on Sunday.

It’s easy to pick a team from the sidelines, that must be said. Given the situation, however, this is surely the best way of bringing more attacking trust into the team without completely ceding territory.
