West Ham United striker Michail Antonio was once again treated incredibly unfairly by referee Anthony Taylor during our clash with Brighton today.

The 33-year-old West Ham forward Michail Antonio is probably the strongest player in the Premier League.

He is an absolute unit and gives defenders nightmares pretty much every single game what with his physicality.

The Hammers forward possesses an awesome physique. He is physically imposing and there aren’t many better than him when he’s on form.

However, there is one big problem with Michy, and it really isn’t his fault…

The 33-year-old received shocking treatment from referee Anthony Taylor this evening.

He was absolutely manhandled by Lewis Dunk and Adam Webster all game, yet Taylor hardly blew up to give him a free-kick.

It’s no surprise – it happens all the time with the Jamaica international. I genuinely believe that because Antonio is so strong and has such an imposing stature, referees believe that he quite simply can’t be forced to ground by opposing players.

This obviously isn’t the case. The former Nottingham Forest man was fouled at lest three times today – once when he was actually dragged to the ground by Dunk – but he wasn’t given the decision by the referee.

What I love about Antonio though is the fact that he never gives up and keeps punching.

He was rewarded for his efforts today with a goal and an assist. He never stops trying and that is exactly the kind of attitude we need at West Ham.

His performance today against Brighton typified everything that Michail Antonio is about. Hopefully the refs start to treat him more fairly as the season goes on, and then he’ll be even more effective for us.
