Some West Ham United fans absolutely raved about Jesse Lingard after his superb display against Aston Villa tonight.
Hammers boss David Moyes brought the Manchester United ace to the London Stadium last month on loan until the end of the season.
Many West Ham fans questioned the wisdom behind signing the 28-year-old in January.
Those concerns were clearly unnecessary, however.
Lingard looked the part away at Aston Villa tonight.
The 24-capped England international made it look so easy. He glided around the Villa Park pitch and linked up superbly well with Said Benrahma.
The tricky play-maker really did look the business tonight.
He also capped off his performance with two superbly taken goals.
It just goes to show the levels you need to be at to play for a club like Manchester United.
It’s a real shame that we don’t have an option to buy Lingard. He took our play to an entirely different level tonight.
If the Hammers are to have any chance whatsoever of finishing inside the top six this season, we need the 28-year-old play-maker to be at his very best between now and May.
