The Hammers earned a vital three points.
Europa League qualification is now entirely in our hands heading into the final game of the season.
We never do it the easy way though do we?!
Lukasz Fabianski injured himself during the warm-up and in typical West Ham fashion, we headed into the game on the back foot.
Declan Rice then missed a penalty inside the first two minutes before Matheus Pereira scored directly from a corner midway through the first-half.
Vladimir Coufal raves about Darren Randolph
The West Ham players are made from stern stuff. We fought like lions and got ourselves back into the game.
Randolph made some vital saves after having made a shaky start.
And Coufal raved about the 34-year-old after last night’s win at the Hawthorns, when speaking to the club’s official website:
“During the warm-up Lukasz got injured, and Darren had to play instead. He did a brilliant job in my opinion, like always. Darren did a brilliant job. It wasn’t the first time this season Lukasz has got injured during the warm-up, and it’s a very difficult situation for everyone, especially for the goalkeeper. He did a brilliant job and I have to praise him and everyone has to say ‘thank you’ to him because it was a big save from Ajayi and he maybe saved us in the game.”
Randolph has plenty of critics but you cannot argue about the job he did for us last night.
The Republic of Ireland international, who earns around £40k-a-week (Spotrac), showed real character last night.
He undoubtedly played a key role in the Hammers earning what was a vital three points.
And Randolph’s display clearly didn’t go unnoticed by Coufal.
