There was one emphatic winner among West Ham fans when asked for their Man of the Match against QPR.

On Sunday afternoon, West Ham United progressed into the fourth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2023.

It wasn’t always pretty but West Ham beat QPR 2-1 in the FA Cup third round thanks to a late header from Taty Castellanos in extra-time.

How much confidence does the win over QPR give you heading into Spurs? 👀

Oh, how sweet it would be to start to turn things around against them 😍

There’s still an awful lot of convincing left to do but a victory is clearly a positive within the context of what has been a largely dreadful campaign thus far.

It was brilliant to see Castellanos get off the mark so early into his Hammers career but Hammers News readers were full of praise for a certain Crysencio Summerville

Crysencio Summerville voted West Ham’s Man of the Match against QPR

Summerville raked in a whopping 85.38% of the votes when Hammers News asked their subscribers for their Man of the Match.

The Dutch winger finally ended his goal drought by netting the opener in the first half in fine fashion.

While it was Castellanos who netted the winner, it was a goal made by Summerville’s ingenuity.

His brilliant turn created space for a cross and Summerville delivered it in fine fashion.

It was perhaps of little surprise, then, that Hammers News subscribers saw fit to crown him the Man of the Match.

Crysencio Summerville has made a huge impact on Taty Castellanos

The fact that Summerville’s fine showing came against a Championship team does need to be taken into account.

He did, however, look far too good for them to handle at times and perhaps he and Castellanos can build a productive partnership in the weeks ahead.

Indeed, Castellanos has been impressed by Summerville during the early days of his West Ham career.

He obviously has a lot of technique,” he said.

“I’m also very happy for him because I know he does a great job. We’re getting to know each other little by little, along with him, [Jarrod] Bowen, Pablo and everyone in attack.”

With Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Felipe in the mix too, there is indeed reason to believe that goals are coming for West Ham’s side.

It will be a challenge but Sunday was at least a start in stepping up to it.
