‘Scammed’…West Ham fans storm social media in reaction to Max Kilman’s performance vs Wolves

West Ham United defender Max Kilman rasied some eyebrows with his performance against Wolves at Molineux on Tuesday night.

Max Kilman joined West Ham from Wolves in the summer for £40 million.

In fairness to the 27-year-old, he has proven to be one of the better signings made by Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten.

Max Kilman was incredibly outspoken during West Ham’s poor run of form earlier this season, and aimed numerous digs at Lopetegui.

However, he should be looking at himself in the mirror after tonight’s display away at Wolves.

West Ham fans react to Max Kilman’s performance vs Wolves

There weren’t many acceptable performances from the Hammers players on Tuesday night.

And Kilman certainly didn’t put in his best shift in a West Ham shirt.

The Hammers fans let him know about it as well…

One West Ham fan took to X and suggested that Wolves will be laughing at West Ham after getting £40 million for Kilman in the summer, “Nice defending by £40mill player. Wolves are laughing that they got that for Kilman lol.“

Meanwhile, X user @DaveyDVYDavey said, “Max Kilman needs to go back to the Conference.“

A third Hammers supporter – @BeselidhjaFc – said, “A little kid could defend better than Kilman.“

A fourth West Ham fan – @WestHamRyan96 – poked fun at Kilman’s display, “Lots of s***e here. Kilman having one of them games unfortunately.”

Whilst @@IronsRavensMac posted on X, “Kilman is just an overrated Mavropanos. Definitely got scammed by Wolves over that deal.“

A sixth Hammer ripped into the 27-year-old as well, “How they zip the ball around and press is how I’d like us to play just so evidently clear we haven’t got the personel for it. Kilman been shanking balls left right and centre. Constant silly long balls up the pitch which Bowen, Guilherme and Ferguson can’t get a sniff at.“

A seventh West Ham fan highlighted Kilman’s big mistake for Wolves’ opening goal, “Awful defending from Kilman imo, completely turned his back on the ball.”

Whilst an eighth West Ham fan said, “I wish Kilman would grow some balls and stop hiding behind players and play like man.“

It was a really poor display all-round from West Ham against Wolves.

However, Kilman put in a truly terrible performance.

The reason why Max Kilman struggles at times for West Ham

When Konstantinos Mavropanos plays, the former Wolves man is so much worse.

However, when Jean-Clair Todibo stars, Kilman looks like a different player.

When the 27-year-old is on top form, he is a very good central defender.

It’s just that a lot of his attention is taken up by trying to cover Mavropanos, when the Greece international is playing.

Graham Potter has to stop persisting with the former Stuttgart man, because his performances are now affecting his West Ham teammates – namely Max Kilman.
