Crysencio Summerville was unsurprisingly a key topic of discussion as Nuno Espirito Santo faced the media following West Ham United’s most professional of professional jobs away to Burnley at Turf Moor.
Summerville is the first since Jesse Lingard to score in five successive matches for the Londoners.
West Ham United’s free-scoring number seven is also one of only four players to find the net in more than three straight Premier League matches; joining Jarrod Bowen, Diafra Sakho and the aforementioned Lingard in the history books.

The Premier League Player of the Month award may await him, too. What a fitting way this would be to end arguably Crysencio Summerville’s best-ever run of form, and certainly his most impressive stretch since he joined in a £30 million deal from Leeds a year-and-a-half ago.

Nuno Espirito Santo lauds ‘amazing’ Crysencio Summerville as West Ham United beat Burnley
Summerville ran rings around Kyle Walker in Lancashire. He opened the scoring with a lovely dinked finish over a stranded Martin Dubravka and then played a clever flick around the former Manchester City man before El Hadji Malick Diouf assisted Taty Castellanos’ first-ever Premier League goal.
Nuno, speaking to BBC Sport after a fourth win in five matches across all competitions, was keen to shine a light on the more underrated aspect of Summerville’s game though.
“It was important to react from the previous match [a 3-2 defeat by Chelsea]. The boys did fantastic work today,” a victorious Nuno said. “Summerville is playing amazing, not only the work he does scoring and assisting but the way he moves on the pitch. [The way] he helps the defence without the ball.
“He is in a nice moment. I think all the team did really well today.”

While Nuno swapped Alphonse Areola for Mads Hermansen, Callum Wilson also replaced Pablo Felipe alongside goalscorer Castellanos.
“I think goals give confidence to the strikers. We have Pablo and Callum Wilson who can also score. The three of them are ready to help the team,” adds Nuno, who also singled out captain Bowen for praise after a typically tireless display down the right.

“Jarrod was fantastic again, the way he takes the team forward. We are really pleased with our forward players. Like I said – and I insist on this idea – we have to solve the problems in our defence because, up front, we can really harm the [other] teams.”
