David Moyes told reporters that West Ham United ace Jesse Lingard was ‘incredibly good’ for 20-30 minutes against Wolves last night, as quoted by Football.London.
The 28-year-old was in truly inspired form against Wolves at Molineux last night.
Lingard opening the scoring for the Hammers with a magnificent solo goal. He ran from inside his own half all the way to Wolves’ penalty area before calmly slotting home past Rui Patricio.
The Manchester United owned ace then set Molineux alight with some incredible work down the left-hand side.
He kept the ball in play just by the corner flag before producing a magical bit of skill that enabled Arthur Masuaku to tee up Pablo Fornals for our second.
Lingard wasn’t done either. In the 38th minute he once again marauded up the pitch, evading five Wolves defenders before playing Jarrod Bowen through on goal. The 24-year-old cooly slotted home.
The 26-capped England international now has six goals and three assists to his name in eight Premier League games for West Ham.
David Moyes showers West Ham ace Jesse Lingard with praise
The Hammers should be doing all they can to make his deal a permanent one in the summer.
Moyes made it clear just how highly he rates the 28-year-old last night, as quoted by Football.London:
“He was fantastic tonight. For 20-30 minutes he was incredibly good and for the rest of it, he was a team player. I told him coming off how well he played.”
Lingard has been a key reason behind West Ham’s rise to fourth spot in the Premier League table.
Signing him permanently in the summer should be Moyes’s priority.
Let’s hope that the Hammers owners are prepared to back the Scot to the hilt to make that happen!
