David Moyes made 1 inexcusable decision during West Ham vs Crystal Palace that was worthy of the sack

David Moyes made one inexcusable decision during the West Ham vs Crystal Palace clash that was worthy of the sack.

I have to say, that performance at the London Stadium this afternoon was one of the very worst I have seen from this West Ham team under David Moyes.

Once again, the Hammers were incredibly slow out the blocks. It was a turgid, tiresome performance yet again.

We are a team bereft of any new ideas and any kind of ambition to actually win football games.

David Moyes must realise that his team have been found out. A lot of that is down to the Scot and his archaic methods.

Moyes is notorious for trying not to lose rather than setting his team up to win games. Because of that, he isn’t too keen on players who take risks and try to make things happen.

Moyes’s treatment of Benrahma since he moved to the London Stadium two years ago has been appallingly bad in my opinion. But the Scot took it to a new level entirely this afternoon…

Said Benrahma was once again the only Hammers player who showed any kind of ambition this afternoon, during what was a painfully dull performance.

The 27-year-old scored a magnificent goal during the first-half. That goal only came about because he was prepared to take the risk of shooting outside the area.

He started the second-half with the same intent, yet amazingly, Moyes brought him off after 62 minutes, bringing Manuel Lanzini on in his place.

It was a genuine jaw-dropping ‘stop what you’re doing’ moment.

The fact that we lost the match should be enough to put real pressure on Moyes now. He quite simply isn’t performing well enough in his role as West Ham manager.

How on earth Moyes decided to hook Benrahma rather than Jarrod Bowen is absolutely mind-boggling. It was a criminal decision from a manager under pressure.

The West Ham vs Crystal Palace result was an absolute gutter.

It could have been avoided had Moyes set up with more ambition from the start though.

And as for his decision to bring Benrahma off rather than Bowen, well, that was just simply unacceptable.
