West Ham United face the daunting prospect of taking on Manchester City at The Etihad on Saturday.
However, it must be said that the challenge isn’t as daunting as it once was, and West Ham may well have a good chance of causing a big upset against Manchester City.
Julen Lopetegui is a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders right now, and he faces the sack if Man City beat us convincingly.
The Hammers have been truly awful this season, so it’s no surprise that the Spaniard’s job is under threat.
After Ipswich’s win against Chelsea on December 30th, we’re now sitting just eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Considering how poor we’ve been this term, West Ham being dragged into a relegation battle certainly isn’t out of the question.
A hammering up at The Etihad this weekend would undoubtedly sharpen the nerves.
I think there is an opportunity for the Hammers to cause what would be a huge upset though.
Big upset is on for West Ham vs Manchester City
Man City have actually been very poor this season, certainly by their standards.
They are now in a dog fight to force their way back into the top four.
However, we all know how difficult it will be for the Hammers to get a result at The Etihad.
West Ham haven’t won at their ground since 2015, and we haven’t actually beaten them home or away in the 21 meetings since that 2-1 victory.
I’m thinking that this weekend’s game could be the best chance we ever have of turning that awful record on its head.

According to Premier Injuries, Man City will definitely be without Rodri, Oscar Bobb, John Stones and Ruben Dias for the Hammers clash.
Meanwhile, Matheus Nunes and Ederson are currently being assessed, and could miss the game as well.
Those six players are all vitally important to Man City.
In fact, four of them formed the cornerstone of their last few triumphant Premier League campaigns.
So will West Ham go to Manchester City with real intent, play on the front foot and try to beat Manchester City?
With Lopetegui in charge, I highly doubt it.
Nevertheless, we won’t have a better chance of beating Man City in their own patch as far as I’m concerned.
