Aaron Cresswell put in a truly brilliant performance for West Ham against Bournemouth at the London Stadium last night.

The Hammers earned a vital three points against the Cherries, after a 2-0 victory.

Said Benrahma was the standout performer, although as per usual, David Moyes refused to give the Algerian praise without the odd dig or two.

Aside from Said though, Aaron Cresswell was one of West Ham’s best players on the night against Bournemouth.

The 32-year-old endured plenty of stick during the second-half of last season, and the first few games of this campaign.

Cresswell seems to be in the midst of a mini-renaissance, however. He was absolutely sensational for West Ham last night, and the stats back that up…

Aaron Cresswell was brilliant for West Ham vs Bournemouth

The 32-year-old defended brilliantly last night and provided a great attacking outlet for us down the left hand flank.

The ex-Ipswich Town left-back seemed to be in real decline during the second-half of last season.

And if we’re being honest, he cost us a place in the Europa League final, after getting sent-off against Eintracht Frankfurt.

We have to give Cresswell all the credit in the world though. He has bounced back in style this season and proven that he still has plenty more to give the Hammers.

The experienced left-back was superb for West Ham against Bournemouth last night, and his stats really were quite remarkable:

Make no mistake about it, Aaron Cresswell is still absolutely vital to this West Ham team.

Signed for just £2 million from Ipswich in 2014 (BBC), the Liverpool-born ace has gone on to be a terrific servant to the club.

I still think that his legs are gone, but his football intelligence is obviously still right up there with the very best.

The 32-year-old made a real statement with his performance for West Ham against Bournemouth.

And let’s hope that there’s plenty more where that came from between now and the end of the season.
