West Ham will be in the bottom six if they lose to Nottingham Forest as the pressure ramps up for David Moyes.

West Ham welcome Nottingham Forest to the London Stadium on Sunday looking to arrest a slump in form and results in the Premier League.

There is no hiding the fact West Ham have let a promising start to the season fade in the last few weeks.

Three league defeats on the bounce and just one win in their last seven top flight games has seen speculation reignite over the future of David Moyes at West Ham.

The boss has admitted himself his job was on the line on more than one occasion during the dark days of last season.

But the Europa Conference League triumph vindicated West Ham’s decision to stick by Moyes.

Dissatisfaction with the style and approach among many fans, though, means unrest does not take long to bubble to the surface.

The Hammers were woeful in defeat to Everton in their last league home game and must find a way to beat teams who defend deep against them.

Nottingham Forest are going into the match off the back of a superb win over Aston Villa last weekend. So Steve Cooper’s side will be no pushovers.

Results have really worked against the Hammers in recent weeks. And that has culminated in a fast slide down the table.

Now West Ham will be in the bottom six if they lose to Nottingham Forest as the pressure ramps up for Moyes.

While nobody is concerned West Ham will become embroiled in a relegation battle, they will drop down to 15th if they lose to Forest after Everton’s victory at Palace.

Should that happen and Fulham win at Villa then West Ham will fall even further into the bottom five.

But on the flip side a win could lift West Ham back up to ninth place.

We appreciate this article may be very much written from a glass half empty point of view.

So it is important to stress that the Hammers could just be a win or two off the European spots again.

And given we’re top of our Europa League group and in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup, it’s understandable that assistant coach Kevin Nolan has hit out about the speculation around Moyes’ future.

Winning against Forest holds the key, though. And the results have not been kind to the Scot of late.

Big pressure on the Hammers on Sunday. But last season they performed in those clutch moments more often than not.
