Some West Ham fans were impressed with the efforts of Sebastien Haller against Southampton at St Mary’s tonight.

The 26-year-old striker, who earns £75k-a-week according to Football League FC, is an incredibly divisive figure at the London Stadium.

Some West Ham fans love him and some hate him. Some think he isn’t even Championship quality whilst some think he is simply a misunderstood genius!

In truth, Sebastien Haller is probably somewhere in the middle.

A major bone of contention with the Ivory Coast international is his perceived lack of effort.

 

Haller did put in a shift tonight, however. You can’t argue with that. I have been one of his biggest critics over the past few months.

The 26-year-old contested everything tonight though and he really put himself about.

Once again he didn’t have any support in the final third. The Ivorian did offer us somewhat of an outlet, however – something he just hasn’t done enough of this season.

It could be argued that he still needs to do so much more though, especially considering how much he cost.
