Manchester United play host to West Ham at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup third round tonight.

Both teams will obviously want to progress through to the fourth round but it is clear that this competition features well down on the list of their respective priorities.

Sunday’s Premier League clash at the London Stadium and the farcical way in which it ended will be fresh in the memory of the West Ham players.

The Hammers will be desperate for revenge against Manchester United tonight. And the team selected by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be desperate to prove to their manager that they have what it takes to succeed at Old Trafford.

David Moyes has obviously selected a team he thinks can win the game against Man United.

It was also a team selection clearly made with one eye on our game against Leeds on Saturday.

 

The Hammers are more than capable of progressing through to the fourth round of the competition tonight.

Winning at Old Trafford is never easy, however, regardless of the situation.
