Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold believes Antonio Conte plans to rest top star Son Heung-min for the clash with West Ham.

West Ham head to north London for a clash with bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday.

Tottenham are like a box of frogs at times this season. Having beaten Man City, Spurs went and got a 4-1 hiding at Leicester at the weekend.

And they followed that up with a 1-0 defeat to AC Milan in the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday night.

That will give the Hammers great encouragement ahead of their meeting with Conte’s unpredictable side on Sunday.

So too will the fact a host of key men will be missing for Tottenham when they face West Ham.

Midfield star Rodrigo Bentancur, captain Hugo Lloris, Yves Bissouma and Ryan Sessegnon have all been ruled out of the match.

And so has the Spurs manager Conte as he remained in Italy to recover from a recent operation.

Now there could be another massive boost for David Moyes and his team.

Because a Spurs expert believes one star who has often be a thorn in West Ham’s side won’t be in the starting XI either.

Spurs correspondent Alisdair Gold believes Antonio Conte plans to rest top star Son Heung-min for West Ham.

Gold says Conte will still be selecting the team remotely and will make the bombshell selection for the West Ham clash.

Son has not hit his usual heights this season after being joint top Premier League goalscorer last term.

But he has a brilliant record against the Hammers with seven goals and seven assists in 16 games against Tottenham’s rivals.

So if Gold is right then West Ham will be delighted.

Although he believes Richarlison will replace Son. And Hammers supporters will be wary of their propensity to be the gift horse given the Brazilian is still searching for his first Premier League goal for Tottenham.

“Up front, all of Spurs’ attacking trio struggled in Milan and Conte and (assistant Cristian) Stellini must decide whether to bring in one or more of Richarlison, Arnaut Danjuma and Lucas Moura to freshen things up,” Gold told Football.London.

Gold’s predicted Spurs team to face West Ham: Forster; Romero, Dier, Davies; Porro, Hojbjerg, Sarr, Perisic; Kulusevski, Kane, Richarlison.
