David Moyes makes three big West Ham changes for Brighton in our predicted line-up as faltering star is axed and star gets first start of the season.

West Ham play Brighton in a 7.30pm kick-off at the London Stadium tonight.

The Hammers go into the game against Graham Potter’s Seagulls off the back of rare consecutive Premier League defeats.

West Ham have been beaten by Wolves and Man City, the first time the Hammers have lost back-to-back games since April.

The last time it happened – in defeats to Newcastle and Chelsea – it effectively cost West Ham a top four place during the run-in.

This time – with a third of the season gone – it threatens their place in the top four again with Arsenal now level on points with Moyes’s boys.

Brighton have become West Ham’s bogey side since their promotion to the Prem.

Potter has turned them into a strong outfit and some West Ham fans feel changes might be needed to give the team a kickstart.

There have been growing calls among some Hammers supporters for Moyes to drop Said Benrahma for Brighton.

Moyes has substituted Benrahma several times in recent games as the Algerian has failed to hit the high standards he has set for himself this season.

The Scot has been speaking very positively about Benrahma in the build-up to the game.

But he also praised Manuel Lanzini after Man City following a series of impressive cameos.

Predicted line-up: David Moyes makes three big West Ham changes for Brighton as star gets first start of the season

West Ham have not retained the ball very well in recent games. And Lanzini has improved that aspect of the team when he has come into matches.

That suggests Benrahma could be axed to the bench for this one with Lanzini coming in for his first Premier League start of the season.

Moyes looks set to make another two West Ham changes for Brighton.

Aaron Cresswell faces a late fitness test for the match. His back stiffened up after a painful collision with a post in the defeat to Man City just three days ago.

The quick turnaround means it is likely Cresswell will not be risked.

So Vladimir Coufal will come back into the side from the start with Moyes having a decision to make over who plays out of position at left-back between him and Ben Johnson.

Academy graduate Johnson has played well on the left in the past so it may make sense for him to deputise for Cresswell if need be. Arthur Masuaku is simply not reliable enough defensively to play at left-back in the Premier League.

The final change will be Jarrod Bowen coming back into the starting line-up in place of Masuaku with Pablo Fornals moving over to the left side.

Predicted West Ham starting XI to face Brighton:

Fabianski, Coufal, Dawson, Zouma, Johnson, Rice, Soucek, Fornals, Lanzini, Bowen, Antonio.
