Predicted: David Moyes makes two big West Ham changes for Leicester after what he saw last time out

In our Hammers News predicted team David Moyes makes two big West Ham changes for Leicester after what he saw last time out.

West Ham face a Leicester side somewhat in disarray when they visit the King Power on Sunday evening.

There appears to be a perfect storm brewing for Moyes and West Ham with the Foxes out of form and under pressure.

Brendan Rodgers’s side are struggling to defend set pieces, which is one of West Ham’s major strengths.

And the hosts have been rocked by the news their star player will not be signing a new contract and will have to be sold in the summer.

West Ham go into the game potentially missing only Arthur Masuaku and long-term absentee Angelo Ogbonna.

The Hammers face Leicester off the back of a narrow 1-0 win over Watford in midweek.

It was far from pretty against the Hornets.

But in the race for the European spots results are the only thing that matters at this stage of the season.

There were concerns over star Manuel Lanzini before Watford when Moyes admitted he was struggling with an Achilles injury.

Lanzini was on the bench, though. And it is lucky he was because the little Argentine completely changed the game with his ability on the ball and passing through the lines.

It was Lanzini’s line-breaking pass for Jarrod Bowen which resulted in the winning goal. And Moyes said after the game that the playmaker was key to the result.

Said Benrahma was desperately poor again and he will be replaced in the starting XI by Lanzini at Leicester.

Not too many West Ham players stood out in the Watford win.

But one who did for a poor performance was right-back Vladimir Coufal.

The Czech is a big fan favourite and was a revelation when he joined last season from Slavia Prague.

There is no hiding the fact he has just not reached those same levels this season, though.

Many supporters have questioned why brilliant young Ben Johnson lost his place to Coufal when he returned from injury.

And those questions were being asked again in the wake of Coufal’s below par display against the Hornets.

Moyes may opt to stick with experience against Leicester and keep Coufal in the side.

But based on what he saw last time out, Johnson in for Coufal could be Moyes’s second change to the starting XI at the King Power.

Predicted West Ham starting XI to face Leicester:

Fabianski, Johnson, Dawson, Zouma, Cresswell, Rice, Soucek, Fornals, Lanzini, Bowen, Antonio.
