The perfect storm is brewing for West Ham as a potentially huge advantage over Leicester becomes clear ahead of Sunday’s clash.

West Ham got back to winning ways in the Premier League with a narrow 1-0 victory over Watford on Tuesday night.

It may not have been pretty, but in the fight for the European places during the run-in, it is the result that is all important.

Perfect storm for West Ham as huge advantage over Leicester becomes clear

Next up is Leicester City on Sunday.

And the perfect storm is brewing for West Ham as a huge advantage over the Foxes becomes clear.

Brendan Rodgers finds himself under increasing pressure with Leicester down in 12th place and struggling for any kind of form.

West Ham’s opponents were smashed 4-1 by Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup at the weekend.

And West Ham will have the advantage of two extra days of rest over Rodgers’s side who face a tough trip to Liverpool tonight.

If the match goes true to form, Leicester will go into Sunday’s home game against the Hammers under intense pressure to get a result.

Rodgers only has one way of playing anyway but the demands of the home crowd will be to go at West Ham.

That will play right into David Moyes’s hands given the majority of teams tend to sit off and defend deep against the east Londoners of late like Watford in midweek.

West Ham had become renowned for their counter attacking play which gets the best out of the likes of struggling Michail Antonio.

But with teams increasingly electing to sit deep against them, West Ham sometimes struggle to break the opposition down.

Leicester’s desperation for a result, the building pressure and expectation at the King Power and Rodgers’s attacking style will play into West Ham’s hands massively.

Throw in the extra rest two days of rest and this is a perfect storm for West Ham.

A win for West Ham could also give Moyes’s side some breathing space in the race for the European spots this weekend.

Because Man United face an in-form Southampton while Arsenal play Wolves tonight and have seen their game on Saturday against Chelsea postponed. Spurs then play Wolves on Sunday before the 4.30pm kick-off at the King Power.
