Paul Merson has been asking himself a six-word question about the West Ham clash with Man City as he predicts a winner by a narrow margin.

West Ham face arguably the toughest test they will all season when champions and treble winners Man City visit the London Stadium on Saturday.

West Ham have already proved themselves to be one of the form teams so far this season.

And both the Hammers and Manchester City have made unbeaten starts which has seen bosses Pep Guardiola and David Moyes nominated for the manager of the month gong.

West Ham can go above Man City and top the fledgling Premier League table with a win.

And with the likes of Mohammed Kudus now on board, there’s the kind of hopeful buzz in the air around West Ham that has made life difficult for the best of teams down the years.

That is reflected in one pundit’s prediction for the match despite Man City being the closest thing to a banker, home or away, most weeks.

Paul Merson has been asking himself a six-word question about the West Ham clash with Man City as he predicts a winner by a narrow margin.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Merson has heaped praise on the Hammers and says West Ham have the players and style to hurt Man City.

‘This game suits West Ham, they can hurt Man City’

But while he feels Guardiola’s side are in for a tough game, he can’t see anything but a Man City win, albeit by a single goal in a 2-1 victory.

“Both teams are flying at the moment, but I still look at this one and think ‘How will Manchester City not win?’ because the standard they’ve set over the years in the Premier League is just outstanding,” Merson said.

“That said, this game suits West Ham, as they have a lot of counter-attacking threat. As they showed against Chelsea, they have the ammunition to hurt you, with Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen showing their class in front of goal.

“This won’t be an easy game, but I fancy Manchester City to get all three points to continue their perfect start to the new campaign. 1-2.”
