There’s been a huge boost as three big West Ham stars have been pictured training for the clash with Freiburg.
West Ham are gearing up to take on the German outfit Freiburg on Thursday night knowing a draw will seal their place in the last 16 of the Europa League.
Despite a vastly superior goal difference, Freiburg can only finish above the Hammers with a win at the London Stadium in the final group game due to West Ham’s better head-to-head record.
West Ham manager David Moyes was forced to take drastic action ahead of the game.
The renowned workaholic, who works his staff and players just as hard, gave his players two days off ahead of the crunch Group A decider to try and stop the spread of illness in the camp.

Huge boost as three big West Ham doubts pictured training
Moyes likes to play his cards close to his chest regarding West Ham team news and selection.
And he said “we’re pretty much where we were for Fulham” when asked about player availability.
That tallied with reports from elsewhere that key midfielder Edson Alvarez was still ill having missed the Fulham drubbing.
There were also reports that forward Jarrod Bowen – though not injured or ill – would be rested for the Europa League match.
While Alphonse Areola, who also missed Fulham, was out with a wrist injury for that game having also missed the Spurs win.
But there’s been a huge boost as three big West Ham doubts are pictured training for Freiburg.

Alvarez, Areola and Bowen all in the mix
West Ham have posted a picture gallery from the club’s training session ahead of the big European clash.
And Moyes has been given a shot in the arm with Bowen featured prominently suggesting he will be starting.
Meanwhile both Alvarez and Areola are pictured in action in full training too.
Notably Pablo Fornals and Emerson – who were both ill but played at Fulham – were not pictured. Although that does not necessarily suggest they didn’t participate.
Should West Ham lose, they will finish second and enter into a two-legged play-off round against one of the eight teams who finish third and drop out of the Champions League.
Those matches would be played on February 15th and 22nd 2024.
