Gary Neville’s triple claim will send shivers down West Ham spines ahead of the big Man City clash on Wednesday night.

Relegation-threatened West Ham take on Man City at the Etihad and ironically it is the home side under more pressure.

The Hammers were put on the brink of survival by the draw between Leicester and Everton on Monday night.

One more win or a draw would effectively put the seal on safety for West Ham.

For Manchester City, they are looking to take a big step towards retaining their Premier League crown.

Over the years West Ham have had a habit of upsetting teams who are going for title glory or a place in the Champions League. Just ask Man United, Tottenham and Arsenal.

West Ham on a wing and a prayer at the Etihad

But nobody is giving West Ham a prayer as they prepare to face Man City.

Especially after the dismal performance in the 4-3 defeat to Palace last time out.

There is some hope for the Hammers given Man City star Kevin de Bruyne is likely to miss the game. Fulham showed in their 2-1 defeat to Pep Guardiola’s side that you can be competitive against them.

Guardiola has also said he is mentally tired amid another gruelling run-in.

And Arsenal have piled the pressure on Man City to get a result when they welcome West Ham to the Etihad.

But Gary Neville’s triple claim will send shivers down West Ham spines ahead of the Man City clash.

Neville has been speaking on Sky Sports ahead of coverage of Man City’s response to the gauntlet laid down by Arsenal against West Ham on Wednesday night.

Neville agreed with Martin Tyler that Erling Haaland, who has scored a running total of 50 goals this season, will likely set a new Premier League record of 35 goals against West Ham.

The pundit says West Ham are about to face a player who is Harry Kane, Wayne Rooney and the Brazilian Ronaldo in one.

You can almost hear the collective Hammers GULP

“He’s (Haaland) got the finishing of Kane, the power of Rooney, he’s unbelievable,” Neville said.

“He is unbelievable, even the Brazilian Ronaldo, the power he used to have when he ran, the explosion off the mark.

“He is almost like four players in one. It looks like now that harmony is coming at the perfect time in the season, where everything he delivers contributes so much more to City than when they had the perfection before.”

You can almost hear the collective GULP from West Ham’s defence.

The Hammers couldn’t live with Haaland in the reverse fixture. Now without key defender Kurt Zouma, it’s not looking promising for David Moyes’ side.
