Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has suggested that he and his teammates head into tomorrow’s game believing that they are better than West Ham.
The Hammers play host to Aston Villa at the London Stadium tomorrow in the two o’clock Premier League kick-off.

On the whole this season, West Ham have been the better and more content team than Villa.
However, over the past month, it has been the complete opposite.
Aston Villa have been absolutely on fire. Steven Gerrard has his side purring and they’ve won their last three games by an aggregate of 9-0.
Meanwhile, West Ham have been struggling recently. David Moyes’s men have taken just eight points from our last six Premier League games. And because of that, tomorrow’s clash with Villa is an absolute must win.
Villa will represent a really stern test though. And it seems as though they are very confident of getting the three points in East London.

The Argentinian stopper has proven to be an exceptional addition for the Villans.
He is a huge character in every sense.
And the former Arsenal man spoke very confidently about tomorrow’s clash with West Ham, when speaking to Villa’s official website:
“We’re in the mood. We need to stay calm and humble, but we go there thinking that we’re a better team than them. They’re a top side fighting for Champions League, so they’ve got a lot to play for but we’re in the best mood we’ve been in this season. We know what we’ve been through: we lost five on the spin, we lost our previous manager. Now, we need to try and make it five, six wins on the spin just to change that feeling because I know how bad we felt when we lost five on the spin. We’ve got the opportunity to make it four on the spin.”
We have to disagree Emiliano.
West Ham have proven that we are the better team than Aston Villa over the past couple of years. The fact that we are still involved in the Europa League at this stage of the season attest to that.
Villa will be very hard to beat tomorrow, that goes without saying. But they had better expect a tough afternoon in East London as well.
This one should be a cracker of a game. And we can’t help but feel that Martinez’s cocksure remarks could come back to haunt him and his teammates tomorrow.
