West Ham face AZ Alkmaar in Holland bidding to make it to the Europa Conference League final on Thursday night.
As fans well know, the Hammers hold a slender advantage having come from behind to beat AZ Alkmaar 2-1 at the London Stadium.
It is the exact reverse of the scoreline West Ham took to Germany for the second leg of the Europa League semi-finals a year ago.
And David Moyes will be hoping for a reverse outcome in this year’s Conference League semi-final as West Ham bid to set up a final against either Basel or Fiorentina.
Just over one year ago Moyes told his West Ham stars to ‘do it for my dad’ as the Europa League final beckoned for the victors in Frankfurt.
Family affair for Hammers boss
Moyes has always cited his father, David senior, as his big inspiration and mentor in football.
Now with the second leg in Holland looming large, Moyes has issued a new plea to his Hammers stars.

For most of us our earliest memories of the beautiful game involve being taken to your first football match by your dad.
For Moyes it is no different.

And his dad, now 87, will be in Holland tonight to watch his son’s side in one of the biggest games of their modern history.
Moyes and his dad have been here before. Quite literally. David senior watched his son’s Everton side beat AZ 3-2 on their home turf back in 2007.
“It took me a wee while when I came in (to remember the 2007 game), because it was a long time ago now,” Moyes said in his pre-match press conference.
“I had to think about it for a little while. But the moment I came through the door it all came back.

“Louis Van Goal was the manager, and I was a young manager at the time, just starting my journey, or not just starting, but still feeling like a young coach.
“It didn’t back key moments from the game, it was just the victory.
“It was my dad who reminded me about the victory. My dad was out here as well and will be again tomorrow night.”
Last year Moyes declared: “I’m hoping I can give them a night to remember.”
But he and Aaron Cresswell ended up being sent off as emotions ran high during West Ham’s frustrating defeat.
Let’s hope this time around David senior and West Ham fans the world over finally get that special night to remember.
