West Ham club captain Jarrod Bowen has gone from strength to strength over the past few years, but he’s still ye to establish himself as a regular starter for England.
Jarrod Bowen was desperately unlucky not to be given more game-time for England at the Euros out in Germany this summer just gone.
The 27-year-old forward, signed from Hull City for £20 million in January 2020 (BBC), has firmly established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League.
Bowen has bagged an impressive 62 goals and 39 assists in 206 games in all competitions for the Hammers.
He’s under contract at the London Stadium until the summer of 2030, and he will undoubtedly go on to be a West Ham legend.
I actually think that Lopetegui will use Bowen as a striker going forward, and he excelled in that role for England last night, despite playing just six minutes plus stoppage time.
The Englishman clearly isn’t happy with playing a bit-part role for the Three Lions…

The Hammers star looked really lively when he came on against Ireland at the Aviva Stadium yesterday.
However, he clearly wants to make his mark in a more emphatic way for his country.
The 27-year-old opened up on his ambitions to succeed with England, when speaking to the Evening Standard.
Bowen said, “If I sat here and said I was happy not playing I’d be lying… every player wants to play every minute.“
If I was Bowen, I’d be fuming that Carsley only gave me six minutes to impress against the Irish.
Harry Kane has been underperforming for England for quite some time now, whilst the Hammers star is on another level to Anthony Gordon.
Meanwhile, Bukayo Saka seems to play every single minute for England, much to the annoyance of the Arsenal fans I’m sure!
Jarrod Bowen needs a proper chance for England
Surely it’s time for Jarrod Bowen to be given a genuine chance for England, and by that I mean a run of three or four consecutive starts.
If he’s not up to the levels required then fine, we will all be bale to accept it because at least he would have been given a chance.
Right now though, nobody actually knows whether or not Bowen could be the man to finally fire England to success.
And that is criminal really.
Lee Carsley, like Gareth Southgate before him, has promised that players’ good form for their clubs will be rewarded with starts for England.
If the 50-year-old is a man of his word, Jarrod Bowen will be given a chance to shine for England against Finland on Tuesday.
