West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen watched on from the bench as England reached the Euro 2024 final.
England beat Holland 2-1 in the Euro 2024 semi-final out in Germany, but West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen failed to get any minutes at Signal Iduna Park.
There was huge excitement amongst the West Ham fans when Bowen was included in the England squad for Euro 2024.
Gareth Southgate has now guided his Three Lions side to back-to-back Euros finals – quite some achievement, but it’s still fine to question some of his team selections.
Before the tournament began, many Hammers fans expected Bowen, 27, to play a key role for England, after his fine 2023/24 season.
The former Hull City star bagged 20 goals and 10 assists for in 44 games for West Ham last term, and was one of the most in-form English forwards heading into the Euros.

However, things haven’t worked out as planned for Jarrod. Southgate has given the right winger just 35 minutes out in Germany so far.
The rhetoric from the media hasn’t helped, with high profile pundits like Paul Merson suggesting that Bowen isn’t a game-changing, or match-winning player.
Those ridiculous opinions seem to have influenced Southgate.
I have no doubts that Bowen would have made a big difference for us during the games against the likes of Slovenia and Switzerland.
We all know about his incredible work-rate and desire to extract every ounce of his potential.
And the Hammers fans are all on the same page after an impressive statistic emerged…
England reach Euro 2024 final without West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen
An incredible set of numbers came to light after the Three Lions booked their place in Berlin on Sunday night, with a 2-1 win against the Dutch.
A theme that has emerged from the tournament is the sheer amount of England players who have come through the ranks, having begun their careers in the lower levels of the football pyramid.
Bowen is the prime example of that, alongside semi-final hero Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa.
So with that in mind, when the official EFL X account highlighted the sheer number of England players who’ve come through the lower tiers of English football, some Hammers fans were shocked by what they saw.
Here is a selection of some of the tweets from the West Ham fans highlighting Bowen’s bizarre omission from the post on X:
I agree with every single fan who has highlighted the absence of Bowen on the above picture.
How on earth can you make a post about the talent that has come through the lower divisions all the way to the Premier League without including Bowen!?
The Hammers star began his career at non-league Hereford Town before moving on the Hull, and then West Ham back in 2020.
Jarrod Bowen is the poster boy for reaching the very top after his humble beginnings in the game, and the mere fact that he has been part of the England Euro 2024 squad is incredible when you think about it.
It’s a shame that he wasn’t recognised for his exceptional achievements by having his picture included in the above post!
