Will he or won't he as conflicting rumours circulate over Michail Antonio for huge West Ham clash

The will he or won’t he question will soon be answered as conflicting rumours circulate over Michail Antonio for tonight’s huge West Ham clash.

The Europa League last 16 second leg clash against Sevilla is almost upon us.

West Ham face one of their biggest games in recent history when Sevilla come to the London Stadium for what promised to be a memorable Europa League clash.

The tie is delicately poised. West Ham must overturn a 1-0 deficit in order to advance to the quarter-finals where they would be hard pressed to draw anyone as difficult as their Spanish opponents.

But David Moyes was hit with a huge blow with injuries to Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell in the build-up.

The Scot said yesterday that Bowen will be out until after the international break. He also stated that Antonio had not trained properly with the team will not be risked if he is not fully fit.

Speculation around the club suggests Cresswell will be fit to play after he also picked up a knock in the win over Villa.

That is a huge boost if true.

But what of Antonio?

The will he or won’t he will be answered soon but conflicting rumours have been circulating today over Antonio’s availability for the huge West Ham clash.

TalkSport Breakfast repeatedly claimed this morning that Antonio would be in the squad for the game. And given Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil are close pals of Moyes – and Hammers legend Trevor Sinclair was also on the show – many feel there may be something to it.

But that does not tally with the indication from Moyes. The Hammers boss is, though, famous for being somewhat old school in playing mind games over injuries and team selection.

So it may be that Antonio is indeed going to be in the squad for Sevilla despite his suggestion that will not be the case.

It’s all a big guessing game.

But it will be a huge boost if Antonio is passed fit for the match.

West Ham were actually better with the more technical Andriy Yarmolenko up front when Antonio was forced off through injury against Villa.

But West Ham need all the help they can get as goals are needed if we want to be in the hat for the quarter-finals.

Perhaps Moyes has a trick up his sleeve ready to bring Antonio on for a spell in the game or start him and go for it knowing Yarmolenko can come on and offer something different if he pulls up.

Come on you rip roaring goal scoring Irons!
