West Ham United have been dealt a huge injury blow with the news that Craig Dawson is still struggling with a thigh problem.

That’s according to club insiders Claret and Hugh who claim that the 32-year-old’s injury doesn’t seem to be getting much better.

This is particularly worrying because Nayef Aguerd is still out injured and Angelo Ogbonna is clearly nowhere near match fit.

Despite the fact that David Moyes brought eight new signings into the London Stadium in the summer transfer window, it still seems like we are stretched at the moment.

Especially in the centre-back department. And it seems as thought that won’t be improving anytime soon…

West Ham injury blow shared by insider

Claret and Hugh claim that Dawson definitely won’t feature against FCSB or Newcastle and is highly unlikely to face either Silkeborg or Everton either.

That really is a big big blow for us.

Dawson was actually heavily linked with a move away from the London Stadium in the summer transfer window, but he ended up staying after David Moyes refused to sell the centre-back.

After joining the Hammers initially on loan in October 2020, Dawson has been a standout player for David Moyes.

The injury suffered by the 32-year-old is a huge blow for West Ham.

We obviously miss Dawson defensively but it seems as though we’ve missed him in the final third as well. We haven’t yet scored directly from a set-piece this season.

The ex-Watford man attacks the ball from corners and free-kicks with such vigour and aggression – something that we just doing seem to be doing at the moment as a team.

The sooner that Dawson returns from injury the better for the Hammers.

His prolonged absence through injury has already been a big blow for West Ham. And it appears as though it could be about to get worse unfortunately.
